The Ivory Coast defender, 23, was dismissed after a brawl in the final minutes of United's Europa League semi-final aggregate victory over Celta Vigo back in May.

The Ivorian grabbed Guidetti around the throats before also getting involved in an incident with Celta's Argentine defender, Facundo Roncaglia.

But following a UEFA hearing, Bailly's ban has been included 3 games, suggesting he will miss out on the Super Cup versus Real Madrid in Macedonia on August 8 and also United's initial game of the Champions League team stages.

Jose Mourinho will not be able to call upon Eric Bailly for Manchester United's opening Champions League group game next season.

UEFA has released a statement extending the suspension to include two more games.

However, Bailly is set to miss another glamour tie in his fledgling United career after European football's governing body made a decision to suspend the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations victor for a further two matches, ruling him out of the UEFA Super Cup clash with Real Madrid. The draw will be in Monaco and the group stage matches start on September 12th.

United have also received a warning over the late kick-off of the semi-final second leg.
