Man Jumps Onto Train During Police Car Chase, Gets Away

He was caught on camera running from his auto toward the train tracks and jumping onto a moving train, trying to make an escape.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for a chase suspect who ditched his vehicle Wednesday afternoon in west Charlotte and jumped onto a moving train in order to get away from officers.

He ended up getting off the train and ran into a wooded area.

The train slows and eventually stops, but only after the suspect has fled.

Police pulled up and checked the vehicle the man jumped out of before heading down the tracks after him.

Around 4:30 p.m. a man driving a black Honda northbound on I-85 was being pursued by police. WSOC reports that police are going house-to-house in the neighborhood the suspect is believed to have escaped to.

Two other people were taken into custody.

A large presence of police have been seen walking in the woods and on the train tracks with dogs in an effort to locate the man.
