Instagram introduces photo and video replies for Stories

Watching Instagram stories is undeniably addictive, but have you ever felt like words and emojis just aren't enough for the witty reply you had planned?

Basically, now when you're watching a Story, there's a new camera button at the bottom of the screen.

The replies feature also lets you use a new sticker that actually contains the original Story you're replying to, which can be resized and positioned anywhere in your frame.

So next time hilarity strikes, you'll be better equipped to respond with an arsenal ranging from selfies to Boomerangs.

Capture a photo and update it with as many creative tools as you please. Once you hit "send" you can continue watching the rest of the stories in your feed.

These will still appear in your Direct Inbox as usual.

You can use any creative tools in the camera, including face filters, stickers and Rewind. So if you like to use Instagram as a place to practice your creativity, this update provides a great opportunity for you to creatively enhance your interactions. And users will be notified when a photo or video reply is captured as a screenshot or replayed, again like normal photos and videos sent within Direct messages.

The updates are available as part of Instagram version 10.28 and above for iOS in the Apple App Store and for Android in Google Play.
