LSU players, including Jared Poche (16), celebrate after Michael Papierski scored a three-run home run against Oregon State in the third inning of an NCAA College World Series baseball elimination game in Omaha, Neb., Saturday, June 24, 2017.

Florida is heading to the CWS championship series after Alex Faedo pitched the Gators to a 3-0 win over TCU on Saturday night.

LSU advanced to the CWS Finals with a 6-1 win over top-ranked Oregon State on Saturday.

LSU catcher Michael Papierski hit two home runs - one left-handed and one right-handed.

TCU (50-18) had beaten Florida 9-2 on Friday to force the winner-take-all bracket final and the teams' third meeting in a week.

But Trevor Larnach was called out on a 3-2 pitch that was well outside - but a strike the LSU pitchers took advantage of throughout the game. "Now, we move on with a chance to play for a championship".

LSU has played in the championship series once before - a 2-1 series win over Texas for the 2009 CWS national title - and have a flawless 6-0 record in all CWS championship games. Florida is 50-19 on the season and hope to win its first title after coming up short in 2005 and 2011. So I'm just glad they called it foul.

For the second game in a row, cleanup hitter Greg Deichmann began an inning by ripping a laser into the right-field corner on a 1-and-2 pitch from Beavers' ace Jake Thompson and never hesitated rounding first base and legged out a double.

The Chicago Cubs' first-round draft pick limited top-seeded Oregon State to two hits over 71/3 innings to carry the Tigers to a 3-1 victory and ended the Beavers' 23-game winning streak. He worked around a one-out double in the fourth inning and a two-out walk in the fifth, while retiring seven straight OSU hitters from the sixth until the point he left the game with one out in the eighth. All the great wins we've had he's been a big part of them. The Tigers broke loose for three runs in the bottom of the second thanks to Papierski's homer.

But none of that matters to O'Sullivan, who said he knew this team could be special from the beginning thanks to its pitching and defense, which rank second and tied for first in the SEC, respectively.

Nick Madrigal is batting.388 for OSU with 20 doubles, four home runs and 40 RBI, while Steven Kwan is hitting.342 with six doubles. The Horned Frogs were 0-for-2 with a runner in scoring position, 1-for-7 with runners on base and left five runners on base without bringing them around to score. "We've only got two hits". But in vintage Lange fashion, he found ways to escape potential jams and turned the ball over to suddenly unhittable freshman righthander Zack Hess in the eighth and ninth innings in the 3-1 victory over the Beavers. "I don't mind laying down a bunt when coach asks", Jordan said.

"Just throughout the day, I just tried to think back to my start past year when I was kind of in the same situation", he said. Kowar threw him out at first. "We did. We got great pitching performance yesterday from Alex and finished by Hess and today the same thing, Gilbert followed by Hess".

Florida won two of three games during an SEC series with LSU in March.

"We had thought about it yesterday after the game, and we thought we'd go with Ras", Casey said.

LSU's Josh Smith (4) hits an RBI single during the second inning of an NCAA College World Series baseball game against OR in Omaha, Neb., Friday, June 23, 2017.
