Bryan Colangelo, the Sixers president of basketball operations, would not say who the team will take with the No. 1 pick in Thursday's NBA Draft.

On a big night for both their teams, Boston and Philadelphia fans appear ready to pack the place for Thursday night's National Basketball Association draft.

Kansas Jayhawks guard Josh Jackson (11) goes up for a shot as Oregon Ducks guard Dylan Ennis (31) and forward Jordan Bell (1) defend during the second half in the finals of the Midwest Regional of the 2017 NCAA Tournament at Sprint Center. "We know how good Cleveland and we know how good Golden State is".

Barring any other changes before Thursday, the first four spots in this year's draft order would mirror the first-four from last year: Philadelphia at No. 1, the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 2, Boston at No. 3 and Phoenix at No. 4. And when the right deals come around, we will move on them.”.

IT'S GOT TO BE THE SHOES: When Fultz walks on stage to shake hands with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, he recommends you check out his feet. "I'm not going to give up those efforts because we have moved up to No. 1".

The deal was first reported by TheVertical.com. As we saw in Los Angeles, Brandon Ingram did not start, and he slowly got into the rotation. If not, the Celtics will instead receive either Sacramento's or Philadelphia's first round pick in 2019, whichever is more favorable. Fultz is the guy the Sixers want and they were willing to make the trade with a divisional foe, which is taboo in most circles, to make it happen. “But were not afraid of that.”. They selected Ben Simmons a year ago, but he missed all of the 2016-17 season with a broken foot.

With Thomas, though, the Celtics didn't necessarily need a point guard - which is the piece Philadelphia apparently wanted most.

Fultz grew up in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and attended famed DeMatha High School in Washington D.C. He did not make the school's varsity team until he was junior. He was the top freshman scorer in the country.

In 2016, the Sixers picked Ben Simmons, who didnt play at all during the season after breaking a bone in his foot.

The 19-year-old Fultz will join a line-up of young talent including 20-year-old Simmons, centres Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor, the No.3 picks in 2014 and 2015 respectively, plus Croatian forward Dario Saric. The 76ers are expected to take Markelle Fultz with the first overall pick. “This pick provides us a tremendous opportunity to add another foundational player to our promising core.”.
