McDonald's is finally available for home delivery in the United Kingdom via UberEats

The move comes after similar tie-ups with Uber in the United States, while McDonald's already delivers in countries such as China, Egypt and Singapore.

For years, some members of the populace have yearned for the day fast food outlet McDonald's chose to deliver its reliable menu items to people in their homes, this day has come as a result of a partnership with Uber's side venture UberEats.

Twenty two locations across London will be offering the service, with a further seven in Nottingham and three in Leeds.

The company said UberEats gives Hampton Roads diners, restaurants and delivery partners more options.

The launch comes after KFC launched home deliveries across 30 restaurants in Greater London via the Just Eat platform earlier this year.

Delivery is an important market to tap into in the UK. These takeaways were worth £3.6 billion and were up by a whopping 50percent since 2008, according to NPD Group.

The partnership with UberEats is nearly definitely a reaction to the success of rival food delivery services such as Just Eat and Deliveroo.

Orders can be placed between 7am - 2am, so if you wake up and need a McMuffin, or get in from a night out and need some chicken nuggets, you'll be able to get your food. Orders will be delivered by a bicycle or moped-riding courier.
