Microsoft isn't making a profit with their new Xbox One X console

"It won't be as big as Xbox 360, I'll tell people that", Spencer said. Microsoft showed the new Xbox One X at E3 2017 and it is a handsome machine but inessential. "I look at Pro as more of a competitor to S than I do to Xbox One X", Spencer said.

As of right now, the two major third-party titles that are going big on Xbox One X compatibility are Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and Assassin's Creed: Origins. Even still, it's great to know that those of us who have been playing Xbox games since the beginning will be able to break out some of the old games again and play them on current hardware.

Along with these announcements, the division's head Phil Spencer confirmed that the original Xbox games will be coming to the console under its backwards compatibility program. The impressive video game console is considered as the most powerful one in the world for a reason, and it takes top-of-the-line components for it to make such a claim. Indeed, the custom Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) GPU in the newest Xbox can run at 6 teraflops, compared to the Sony console which comes with an AMD Polaris graphics card that is capable of running at 4.2 teraflops. They're Crimson Skies, and Fuzion Frenzy.

Alongside the prominent reveal of the Xbox One X, it was announced at E3 this year that original Xbox games will soon be supported on Xbox One.

Phil Spencer had some details share on it but more technical aspects of Xbox games running on an emulator and how well they work is something we can not comment on at the moment.

Xbox One X will debut on November 7 for $499 United States dollars. Microsoft could soon be making money from Xbox One X sales, but how long that will take is now unclear.

I wondered, though, if the fact that games must be created to run on any Xbox One console - whether the original Xbox One released in 2013, the current Xbox One S or the upcoming Xbox One X - might limit the potential of the new console's incredible raw horsepower.
