Smirnoff Vodka trolls Trump: We'll talk about our Russian Federation ties under oath

Smirnoff vodka has a new ad campaign that references the investigation into Russian interference in last year's US presidential campaign.

Because we've now reached a point where even liquor companies can't resist taking part in (or capitalizing on) the political resistance, Smirnoff chose to promote its America-made vodka while simultaneously trolling President Trump's ties to Russian Federation, using his very own words against him.

"Smirnoff has been made in America for more than eight decades". Below, slightly smaller texts reads, "But we'd be happy to talk about our ties to Russian Federation under oath", doling out some serious snark in their new campaign. The company's first distillery was founded by Piotr Arsenyevich Smirnov (hence, the brand's name) in Moscow in the 1860s. One user tweeted that Smirnoff's ad campaign is brilliant.

It's putting up posters that show a bottle of vodka, a Moscow mule, and a line of text that reads, "Made in America. #Smirnoff #vodka #RussiaGate via @Adweek".

Smirnoff just threw some icy-cold shade at President Donald Trump.

The President has been accused of obstructing justice by allegedly pressuring Comey to stop the Bureau's investigation into communications between key Trump aides and Russian intelligence officials.

Trump on Friday responded to James Comey's dramatic testimony, accusing the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director of false statements about their private conversations.

Smirnoff: Our vodka goes down smooth, but our burns linger.
