With Zlatan Ibrahimovic likely to be on the way out and a deal for Antoine Griezmann dead in the water, Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to the Real Madrid striker.

But stunning reports in Spain claim Real are playing hardball over the potential transfer and have already rebuffed a huge approach from Mourinho and co. The club are now said to be preparing an offer of around €70m, but Marca states that Real are hoping for up to €90m.

It is said that Los Blancos want to hold onto their forward and are demanding €100m [£88m].

Morata, also a target for Antonio Conte at Chelsea, didn't appreciate the way he was handled by Zinedine Zidane last season, and will be looking for different pastures this summer, with the Red Devils looking set to complete an impressive swoop.

Morata's agent Juanma Lopez spoke out about his client's future earlier this week.

"Will he stay? I don't know, it was a brilliant season for Real Madrid who won a lot of titles". The player will take a clear and definitive decision in the coming days. He does not want to do a season like this again.

Fabinho made his name as a right-back after joining Monaco in 2013 but he reinvented himself as a defensive midfielder last season and played a key role during what was an excellent campaign for the French outfit.

The United boss has since reminded the player of that contract in his bid to sign him this summer, and has also told Morata of his desire to win the Premier League while highlighting his ambition to secure the Champions League over the longer term.
