Bournemouth right-back Adam Smith is taking no notice of transfer rumours linking him with moves to Chelsea or Tottenham.

Manchester City are set to secure a deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker for a fee believed to be in the region of £40 million, according to the Daily Star.

Despite the rumoured interest, the former England Under-21s worldwide is committed to helping the Cherries retain their Premier League status for a third-successive season next term.

He told the Bournemouth Echo: "That transfer talk is part of football, all the speculation builds towards the end of every season". I would rather that than be getting bad press.

Smith was sold to Bournemouth before Mauricio Pochettino arrived at Spurs and only made one senior appearance for the club, which came during a win over Fulham during the final day of the season in May 2012. "I was [at Tottenham] for a long time but I don't really take any notice of all the talk - a lot of it is rubbish!"

Smith has been a regular at right-back for Eddie Howe in the Premier League for the last two seasons and enjoyed a strong campaign last term, registering five assists and playing over 3000 minutes.
