Everett police and fire crews were called to a Coastal Community Bank location at 10500 19th Ave.

Police in Everett, in the USA state of Washington, shared a photo of the charred ATM outside Coastal Community Bank, complete with a blackened hole where the money used to be.

In the process of doing so, they accidentally set the money on fire and one of the men urinated on the flames to try to put it out. But, they ended up setting their cash on fire, leaving with nothing but a story so embarrassing they can't even tell their friends.

The Seattle Times reports that the damage to the ATM, cash, and the building is estimated to be $35,000.

Steen and Kovar are also wanted for questioning in relation to several other commercial burglaries in Snohomish County. Both are 31 years-old, from Everett, and have probable cause for arrest on arson and burglary charges.

All that remains of the thieves attempt to break into the ATM outside Coastal Community Bank is just a charred box.
