JK: Four terrorists gunned down in Tral, combing ops underway

According to a senior police official, security forces cordoned off the area around Saimooh village in Pulwama's Tral and intensive search operations are now underway by the security forces.

Director general of Jammu and Kashmir Police S P Vaid confirmed that three terrorists are reportedly holed-up in the house and the gunfight was on till late.

Rathsuna is situated near Saimoo village where a fierce encounter between militants and government forces in going on since Friday evening.

The entire area has been cordoned off and a major counter-operation is underway.

Local sources said that amidst complete shutdown protesters started raising pro-freedom and anti India slogans and pelted stones on forces who retaliated with tear smoke shells.

The Indian Army successfully foiled an infiltration bid in Rampur sector of Jammu and Kashmir today, in which four terrorists were neutralised.

He said that terrorists attacked a Army patrol by the 42 Rashtriya Rifles, triggering a brief exchange of fire between the terrorists and the security forces.
