The vehicle of missing Hampton mother Keir Johnson was found in Newport News as of May 14, according to Virginia State Police. Neither of them have been seen since April 30.

Earlier in the week, Hampton police Chief Terry Sult said at a press conference that "diligent police work" and new information has upgraded the case to a possible abduction. Kier was preparing to take Chloe out to Buckroe Beach in Hampton.

Sult wouldn't detail how exactly police arrived at the conclusion that Johnson and her child had been abducted, saying only that the investigation had cobbled together nuggets of information from interviews, social media and technology.

Regional and federal partners have joined the case since Keir and Chloe Johnson went missing.

"We were very concerned from the beginning about this situation", Sult said.

Initially there was no evidence that the Johnsons had been abducted, Sult said. Police tell News 3 they could both be in danger.

Sult said the case didn't seem like kidnapping at first. A missing person report was filed on May 1.

Hampton Police are looking for Chloe Johnson who was last at 1900 Hastings Avenue in the city.

Chloe Johnson is described as 2-feet-5-inches, weight 20 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

"I would it appreciate it a lot, if you all could bring my kids home, because I really want them home, and I want them back", Rhonda Crews, Keir Johnson's mother, said, crying. Her mother Keir stands four feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds, also with black hair and dark-colored eyes, and was last seen wearing a T-shirt, blue jeans, and glasses.
