According to CNN, Southwest flight 2530 had traveled from Dallas and was on a layover at Hollywood Burbank Airport. It is not clear what prompted the altercation.

But as the plane taxied to the gate, two men began fighting, Burbank Police said.

In the footage, which was posted to Twitter, two men can be seen jostling with one another before one is thrown into the seats in front of them.

According to the Burbank police report on the incident, 37-year-old Chaze Mickalo Cable whipped around and said the woman sitting behind him was "messing with his chair".

The other passenger, whose name was not released, suffered a contusion and swelling of left eye, a small cut on left side of his nose, and a chipped tooth.

Burbank police say one person was booked. One passenger was arrested, and another had minor injuries but remained on the plane as it continued to Oakland, it said. In a video captured by the fellow passengers the suspect was wrestling with the victim as a woman screams "Get off, what is wrong with you!" and tries to pull him away.

"She was running down the aisle toward danger and then she got trapped".

Then late Monday, irate passengers swarmed ticket counters at the Fort Lauderdale airport after Spirit Airlines cancelled nine flights, blaming the decision on pilots' failure to show up.

Cable is still in custody at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles without bail under a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation hold, jail records show.

The fight ensued as a flight attendant tried to break it up.

The airline said its employees did the right thing by reacting quickly and keeping things from getting worse.
