Woman gang raped, body mutilated in Haryana

She was killed after being raped involving at least seven people.

Police arrested the two accused and identified them as Sumit Kumar of Sonepat and his friend Vikas from Uttar Pradesh. The woman, christened in the media as Nirbhaya or fearless, died 13 days later at a Singapore hospital where she was taken for treatment. The body of the woman was found in a bruised and battered condition. The victim, who hails from Sonipat, was kidnapped by a group of men from outside her office on May 9.

According to the reports it is said that the victim had allegedly refused a marriage proposal, following which the accused reached her home a week later with his friends.

"The victim was tortured and her body was mutilated and tortured after the gang-rape".

The murdered woman's parents alleged that Sumit had been forcing their daughter to marry him and had assaulted her earlier too.

Soon a heated argument broke out between the man and victim. Stray dogs had bitten away the victim's face and lower portion of her body which was spotted by a passerby in the urban estate area of Rohtak on May 11, police say.

"The victim was tortured and her body was mutilated and tortured after the gang-rape".

According to police, the suspects hit the woman at first and then hit her with a brick.

Attackers mutilated her private parts after rapping her and ran a vehicle over her face to prevent identification, said local Police.

Noteworthy, the forensic team has also found some drugs in viscera samples.

A probe is underway into the matter.
