It is the glamorous fundraiser event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute which is held annually on the first Monday of May.

Rih amazed on the red carpet, modeling a floral sculpture dress designed by Rei Kawakubo, the founder of Comme Des Garcons and Dover Street Market.

The singer, who was among the NY event's co-chairs this year, turned heads as she arrived on the red carpet, sporting a scarlet tulle dress from Galliano's Maison Margiela 'Artisanal' collection.

Katy was snapped on her way into the event in a lace look, complete with floor-length red veil and train, which was giving us what we can only sum up as "futuristic space lobster on her wedding day". She rocked the same cut and style at the Met Gala in both 2016 and 2017 - just a different color!

"Rei Kawakubo/COMME des GARÇONS: Art of the In-Between" will run from May 4 through September 4.

Previously, it was claimed the star would be spending his evening looking after the two children he shares with the 36-year-old reality star - three-year-old daughter North and 17-month-old son Saint.

Pictures of her dress have already been turned into memes (thanks, internet), and this one in particular seems to be garnering a lot of interest.

Tennis star Serena Williams also served up drama with a baby bump under her green Atelier Versace dress.

American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who as a long-standing chairman had the final say over all the attendees, wore a shimmering Chanel dress. The sleeves of Dane's flurry of ruffles in a white blouse extended well beyond her hands, paired with a simple pair of black trousers.

Bella had the more talked-about and exciting look of the Hadid sisters with her see-through, sequined Alexander Wang jumpsuit, with the designer declaring that the young model is the "body of a generation" on the carpet.
