'Riverdale' Boss Breaks Down Jason Blossom Killer Twist

We all know that the season finale of Riverdale is next week, and the episode description is pretty plain. Betty (Reinhart) is exhausted of her family acting as if nothing has happened and confronts her mother. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) finds himself in an unexpected situation, leaving Archie and the gang scrambling.

However, when JJJ watched the promo for the episode - something Betty says has us starting to wonder - is Sabrina Spellman actually coming to Riverdale sooner than planned?

If you've been following my rambling in these recaps, you know that incest is no unusual theme in our discussions of the Blossom family. And one of our younger writers-James DeWille-pitched this connection between the Coopers and Blossoms. Did incest happen, or could Jason have been adopted? And he also sort of, we discovered, had the greatest secret that he was hiding and he had the biggest motive. In the very first pitch, we revealed that part of the reason that the parents were going to be against this union is because they knew that Jason and Polly were related. Jason Blossom's murder is positioned as the catalyst for so much of what happens this season, and yet it's hardly a relevant plot point in most episodes. What do you think of these unpublished images?

Well, it turns out Clifford would go all the way to murdering his own son. The insane thing is, we might not even find out, because both are dead now. We also even had it like Clue a little bit, a version where one of them was responsible, a version where two of them were responsible, and a version where all three of them did it. Regardless it'll be tough to figure out: the police came to arrest Clifford and found him hanging in the syrup barn, surrounded by drugs. The series has since obscured that possibility with eleven episodes of red herrings, but ultimately, the killer is the most obvious character. So as we kept thinking about the most shocking, transgressive way in which Jason could have been killed-the ultimate subversion of the safe, wholesome universe presented in the comics-that's when we started to lean towards Clifford. Enter the Scooby gang investigating (and doing a better job than the cops, I might add, even if most of it would probably be deemed tampering with evidence). FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich) is still in jail even with the revelation of Jason Blossom's true murder, Screen Rant reports.

However, just because Clifford has been revealed as the actual killer, that doesn't mean FP gets to walk free.

Then Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) asks her mother what it was that made Jason run away.
