Gary Barlow confirmed this morning that he is going to star in the upcoming Star Wars movie The Last Jedi.

"I don't know if I can even say that". In the reel, among other Disney films coming soon, footage of Star Wars: The Last Jedi was shown, featuring Daisy Ridley's Rey swinging a lightsaber and doing something with the Force. The site describes his role as an "expert slicer", which is just a fancy word for a hacker.

He was once derided as the fat one in Take That, but former boyband singer Gary Barlow is now considered cool enough to have a cameo in the latest Star Wars film.

However, he refused to speak more on his role and to what part he would play.

The long-rumored Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Story film starring Ewan McGregor could become a reality soon, according to Star Wars News Net. The tree was spotted in set pictures a year ago for filming scenes set on Ach-To, the planet Luke and Rey are on at the end of The Force Awakens.

Although not an experienced actor, Gary has had small roles in U.K. TV shows Heartbeat and Miranda and also appeared in British comedy Keith Lemon: The Film.

Make sure to keep it locked on IGN for all Star Wars coverage in the road to Celebration - and the December 15th release of The Last Jedi. Film website imdb has no mention of Barlow as having a part in the film, but does refer to a "rumoured" role for Adrian Edmondson.

'The process has been kept top secret, as he doesn't want anybody to find out.

The Last Jediwill also feature the late Carrie Fisher, who had finished filming before her death in December past year. Gary Barlow, a well-known popstar in the United Kingdom, is the first celebrity to admit he's got a bit part in the film. It was in 2016 when The Sun reported the singer being spotted filming a cameo at London's Pinewood Studios.
