The HTC 11 May Be Unveiled on March 20th

We may not have to wait much longer to see the flagship HTC 11 smartphone if a recent tweet from the Taiwanese manufacturer is anything to go by.

Instead, what that company may announce is the rumoured HTC One X10, a successor of the previously announced HTC One X9.

HTC has started teasing their "unexpected" announcement scheduled for next week, March 20.

The company has posted an interesting teaser to its Taiwanese Facebook page. So what will be released? While the company is expected to launch its own VR headset some time later this year, it'd be way too soon if it decides to launch the same next week.

Whether its HTC 11 or Vive 2.0, HTC would surely want a product that contributes well to its business' growth while making an impact to today's technology. Comments on the Facebook post are full of suggestions, including a HTC U Ultra 128GB variant or even an entirely new device with Snapdragon 835 SoC on board. That's one of the reasons why HTC would not like to launch a new smartphone anytime soon. The HTC user can expect HTC 11 launch on March 20.

That being said, HTC is also a major player in the VR market. At its height in 2011, it churned out two million mobile devices every month, but starting in 2013 most of its assembly lines went out of production due to decreasing demand.

But seeing that HTC used the word "unexpected", this may not be likely.
