Northern NY trooper dies, related to illness after September 11 attacks

Trooper Brian S. Falb, who spent his 18-year career patrolling the North Country, died Monday, March 13, 2017, from a 9/11-related illness.

A northern NY state trooper has passed away from an illness related to working during the World Trade Center attacks.

Falb started working for the State Police in May of 1998. According to media reports, Falb was diagnosed with brain cancer previous year. He assisted with the search and recovery operation at the site.

Trooper Falb served as a Trooper in Troop B in upstate NY for his entire career, his latest assignment with the Traffic Incident Management Team.

Funeral arrangements for Trooper Falb have not yet been announced.

Falb is survived by his wife and four children.
