Tim Hortons annual Smile Cookie campaign is back starting today until September 22, raising money for local charities, children's hospitals and community programs across the United States. "Our team members craft each Smile Cookie with care and are proud to serve them to our guests who want to support such a great cause".

The local charity focuses on starting conversations about mental health with youth in the province.

Last year's cookie campaign raised over $100,000 in the Queen City alone, setting a new provincial record. Demeray added how they have spoken to over 10,000 individuals in the previous year, spanning over 20 different communities in the province. Winnipeg collected the highest amount in the region past year at $148,000, but he's confident Reginans can beat that mark.

Demeray says the money will help expand the group's university program, along with sharing its message with communities all across the province.

Besides committing to this program, restaurants have also promised to donate a dollar to local charities for every cookie purchase in Waterloo Region.
