The Shenzhen-based company said that its first smart TV product would be simply called the OnePlus TV, which is notably the original name of the project that was announced a year ago.

The much-anticipated product from the flagship killer brand, OnePlus, which is its first TV, gets its moniker.

Little else was known, beside this, but just recently, a community representative took to the OnePlus forums and actually confirmed what the TV will be called, sharing alongside a (supposedly) final logo for the device.

OnePlus, a company that started off as a sub-brand of Oppo that built high-end smartphones at a reasonable price, in said in it's eyeing a connected future with the new TV.

"The gap between the '+' and the logo edge is twice as the one between the '+' and the letter "T", which is also twice as the one between "T" and "V", added OnePlus' official blog.

This new announcement comes after the recent reports suggesting the OnePlus TV being spotted in Bluetooth SIG submission.

OnePlus had kept a "You Name It" contest for the television name earlier.

OnePlus' rival Honor launched its VISION smart TV with a pop-up camera last week at Huawei's developer conference.

He hinted at developing an AI-assistant for the smart TV, which might be armed with high quality hardware, a seamless user experience and a minimalistic design. "Eventually, we chose to be true to our core values, but we are thankful for all the suggestions from you". There is the numeric one with the "+" sign, which is the company's native logo, alongside the word "TV". According to the company, the OnePlus TV logo is said to be inspired from classic geometric progression, which also is inspired by several ancient symbols including - a Hindu symbol, the mandala and the famous Greek temple Heraion of Argos.
