Maguire made his Man Utd debut on Sunday as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side trounced Chelsea 4-0 in their Premier League curtain-raiser.

After spells at Hull and Leicester, Maguire became the world's most expensive ever defender last week when Manchester United splashed £80million on him.

"But at Manchester United he will have to play on the halfway line and there will be a lot of space in behind him where he could get caught out for pace".

At the top of the list remains Chile global Alexis Sanchez, who is reportedly on £350 000 (R6.4 million) a week at the club - click through the gallery to see the 10 best earners at the Red Devils!

26-year-old Maguire finally joined United from Leicester a whopping £80m transfer fee, after months of speculation surrounding his future. Let us know in the comments section below. David Moyes was a great manager for Everton and I still respect and admire him to this day, but that is by the far the most weird judgement call I've heard of.

"Everyone will compare the transfer fees but it's so hard to judge transfer fees nowadays. They leave one team that plays a certain way for another where they don't quite fit, and they get found out".

"In the transfer market it's all supply and demand and things can go up and down at any moment. He will be a real hit there".

"You thought "my goodness, how big is Harry going to be" because he was a relatively young boy at that time", Moyes added. I was very aware of the players in the lower leagues and had a made good career out of bringing them to Everton - whether that be Tim Cahill or all the ones we did through the years. When I went to United, we had Vidic, Rio, Jonny Evans, Michael Keane, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling.

"I thought it was a lot of money, but I sort of didn't give him the credit he deserves for how good he is".

However, with little time to reinvest the funds accrued from the sale of Maguire, Rodgers has sought to entrust the defensive berth with Soyuncu, filling a prominent lacuna in his backline with a player who started just four matches in 2018/19.
