The song "Last Christmas" is one of his most popular tracks.

Emilia Clarke (HBO's Game of Thrones), Henry Golding (A Simple Favor, Crazy Rich Asians), Michelle Yeoh and Emma Thompson star for director Paul Feig (A Simple Favor, Spy, Bridesmaids) in Last Christmas, a romantic comedy inspired by a George Michael beat, from a screenplay by Academy Award® victor Thompson (Sense and Sensibility, Bridget Jones's Baby) and playwright Bryony Kimmings.

Universal Pictures released the trailer today.

Directed by Paul Feig, the trailer follows a jaded and luckless Christmas shop elf named Kate (played by Clarke) who crosses paths with the hopeful and positive Tom (played by Golding).

The film was co-written by Academy Award victor Emma Thompson who stars in the film. Michelle Yeoh, 57, who plays Henry's mother in Crazy Rich Asians, is also starring in the holiday film.

The movie will also feature the incredible music of the late George Michael, including the bittersweet holiday classic of the film's title. Last Christmas will also premiere brand-new, unreleased material by the legendary Grammy-winning artist, who sold more than 115 million albums and recorded 10 No. 1 singles over the course of his iconic career.

Feig previously spoke to EW about the film, which he called a "love letter to London". The project, which touches on issues close to Michael's heart like homelessness, received the singer's blessing while he was alive.

"The great sadness is that he's not here to be a part of this", Feig has said. "But he knew it was going to happen, and that gives me such joy". Last Christmas is due to arrive on 15 November here, which seems early for Xmas, but you know the supermarkets will have had festive goodies on the shelves for months already.
