Croatian winger Ivan Perisic has completed a medical today ahead of his initial loan move to Bayern Munich.

"Ivan will help us immediately with his many years of worldwide experience", said Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

The Bundesliga champions are signing Perisic on a £4.6million loan with an £18.5m option to buy next summer.

The Bavarian giants' hopes of signing Manchester City's Leroy Sane were scuppered last week following the news he will be out for six or seven months after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

German newspaper Bild revealed a picture of the 30-year-old attacker leaving the Barmherzige Bruder hospital, where he underwent medical tests on Monday morning.

Perisic has previously played for Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg, who he left in 2015 to join Inter, in the Bundesliga.

Perisic starred for Croatia in the FIFA World Cup a year ago in Russian Federation, during a tournament where his nation made it to the final, only to lose to France.

"Bayern are one of the biggest clubs in Europe".

"I am sure that Ivan will integrate quickly as he already knows the Bundesliga and Niko Kovac", added Salihamidzic.

"Perisic can't play in the role that I want".

After the departures of long-time tandem Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery at the end of last season, Bayern have been looking to replenish their attacking options.
