A female 007? Lashana Lynch set for surprising starring role

Despite being the new 007, Bond is said to try it on with the character, but she initially declines his advances.

Lashana Lynch, who starred in Captain Marvel as Maria Rambeau alongside Brie Larson, has landed the role as the 007 agent in Bond 25, reported Mail Online.

According to the Daily Mail, the next film in the franchise will follow Bond's retirements and return after spymaster M asks him to come back.

The James Bond 007 franchise has gone 24 films without a black, let alone female, lead. Lynch's character will simply be the new agent with the 007 code name.
