R. Kelly was arrested by Homeland Security agents and NYPD detectives in Chicago on charges of sex trafficking on Thursday night, reports said. In addition, a 13 count indictment was given by a federal grand jury in Chicago for receiving and creating child porn. Kelly is expected to be brought to NY.

The Grammy victor, whose real name is Robert Kelly, pleaded not guilty to 11 new sex assault charges last month. In total he has pleaded not guilty to 21 sexual abuse charges since February.

Kelly could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted on those charges.

It is not yet known whether the new charges are linked to the same cases.

In an explosive interview with "CBS This Morning" co-host Gayle King in March, Kelly insisted none of the allegations against him were true, including accusations that he had has beaten, starved and held other women against their will - a so-called "sex cult".

Kelly last appeared in court in Chicago on June 26, when prosecutors handed over a DVD allegedly containing pornographic images of the singer with a minor.

The R&B singer has vehemently denied abuse allegations for decades. He pleaded not guilty to those charges.

In court papers, Kelly's team argued that Foxx's handling of the Smollett case show that she could be "influenced and wowed". Kelly's next court hearing in that case is scheduled for August 15.

The 52-year-old's arrest comes after he was apprehended on a slew of sexual abuse charges earlier this year. Greenberg added, "If you didn't do it, then you didn't do it", and said, "I think he's feeling positive".

"Believe me, man! This is not me!"
