The second biggest change is the fact that the Switch Lite doesn't feature detachable Joy-Cons and the third biggest change is the fact that the Switch Lite is portable only.

"Adding Nintendo Switch Lite to the lineup gives gamers more color and price point options", said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser in a release. Nintendo increased its annual outlook for sales of Switch games from 100 million to 110 million.

The Switch Lite is dedicated for handheld only play, so it is more compact and light than the regular Switch, making it easier to take with you wherever you go.

The Switch Lite is slightly smaller and slightly lighter than the Switch - 0.61 lbs versus 0.88 lbs (277 g versus 399 g). It features a 5.5-inch touch screen instead of a 6.2-inch touch screen. It can last up to 7 hours depending on which game is played. In their testings, they could play Zelda: Breath of the Wild during 4 hours.

According to WKBW, the Nintendo Switch Lite will hit stores on September 20th and is created to be exclusively portable. However, the Nintendo Switch Lite does have better battery life than its costlier sibling despite having a smaller battery cell, which lends some credence to the idea that the newer silicon will offer some tangible benefits.
