Final Fantasy 7 Remake Xbox One port teased by Xbox Germany

Square Enix has clarified that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is only coming to the PlayStation 4, after Xbox Germany erroneously included the game on its Facebook page overnight, leading many to believe the JRPG would be hitting Xbox One next March. However, Xbox Germany's marketing communications and social lead Maxi Graff confirmed that it was only a mistake.

"We did an internal mistake in the Social Team". Human error was to blame, Gräff added, and someone apparently didn't check the exclusivity of Final Fantasy 7 Remake when it added it to the video, which featured several Final Fantasy games. "Sorry, no announcement on our side", she wrote.

The question we're left with is what kind of mistake is this. However, that may be set to chance with an apparent announcement from Xbox Germany.

As Nibel noticed, the game's E3 2019 trailer no longer states "Play it first on PlayStation 4", instead labelling a release date alongside the PS4 logo. Hopefully Square Enix gets the message and sheds some light on all this confusion, as the cat is seemingly out of the bag that yes, no one is plugging their eyes and ears thinking "this is just a PS4 game". The post, which has long since been removed, incorrectly declared the game would launch on Xbox One on the same day as the PlayStation 4 release - the only version we now know about.
