Super Junior member announces he's leaving K-pop group

One of the members of Super Junior has just announced that he is leaving the all-male K-pop group.

My heart feels heavy as it is not positive news, but I am posting after much consideration.

"I chose to leave behind the title, Super Junior, with which I spent a long time", he said. "But I finally decided that this decision can not be further delayed while watching the members suffering unnecessary issues because of my trouble", he added.

However, while watching the members who experience what they shouldn't have to due to my problems, I made the judgment that I can not delay this further.

Kangin went on to thank his fellow Super Junior members and his label's staff "for respecting me until the end", as well as his fans "for the overflowing love that you always sent me for the past 14 years".

This may be too late, but even as I let go of the name "Super Junior" and begin walking on my own, I will always remember these feelings of gratitude and apology.

I will also be cheering on the success of Super Junior.

As persisting scandals ruined his reputation, he and another member Sungmin were eliminated from the lineup for Super Junior's new album set to be released in the second half of 2019.

A Label SJ rep told media outlets, "We have chose to respect Kangin's decision to leave the group voluntarily. This does not affect his exclusive contract with the company; however, nothing has been decided regarding his future promotions." .
