Now that India's campaign in the World Cup is over, there is intense speculation about the future of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. However, after India's loss to New Zealand yesterday, the picture flawless farewell seemed to fade.

Legendary singer, the lady who has been called India's "nightingale" Lata Mangeshkar has requested Dhoni not to quite the game.

While there have been calls for Mahendra Singh Dhoni to retire from all formats of the worldwide cricket after India's exit from the 2019 global Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has urged the wicketkeeper-batsman to not even consider hanging up his boots.

On being asked about the rumors related to his retirement, Dhoni had earlier told a news channel, "I don't know when I will retire".

"Namaskar MS Dhoni ji". She wrote " Kal bhalehi hum jeet na paaye ho lekin hum haare nahi hain.Gulzar sahab ka cricket ke liye likha hua ye geet main hamari team ko dedicate karti hun".

"Kripaya aap aisa mat sochiye".

The tweet of from Lata has been supported by 14,000 people who have "liked" it.

Dhoni and Jadeja stitched a crucial 116-run partnership for the seventh wicket and kept the Men In Blue in the tricky run chase of 240 but luck slipped out of their hands in the dying moments of the innings as these two departed in quick succession. The fact that she felt the need to address MSD and express, in such a respectful manner, her desire to see him continue as an Indian player makes this appeal very special, perhaps at par with any complement that Dhoni has got in his career.
