Keanu Reeves is officially a national treasure. "I said, 'You're going to go out there and the fans are going to go insane.' And he's like, 'Oh, that's cool'".

Reeves should not expect his internet fandom to disappear anytime soon, thanks to his upcoming role in Toy Story. "And I loved how we just wallowed in it. and then when he came back off he was just like, 'wow.' [.] They were so nice to him and everything, he was really blown away, which I thought was cool". He added, "Well, the positivity's great".

The Beirut-born actor, who has suffered more than his share of personal tragedy, is no stranger to being an online craze - a snap of him looking forlorn on a park bench became the hugely popular "Sad Keanu" meme in 2010. His proclivity for introspection, buying his own groceries and riding motorcycles have just made fans on the internet fall more and more in love with the star.

Reeves joins Toy Story regulars Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear) Joan Cusack (Jessie), Blake Clark (Slinky Dog), Wallace Shawn (Rex), and John Ratzenberger (Hamm), playing Duke Caboom, Canada's greatest stuntman.

"I just kind of got inspired", Reeves said when asked if he really did jump onto a table at Pixar when learning about the character. He's a showman, he's a daredevil. "I didn't know that..." They put it into the film, so it was nice.

While Reeves said his on-screen, toy persona "looks absolutely not like me, at all", he did say that some of his physicality made it into the character. The internet adores him, something he finds "wacky", with his fans also dubbing him "Respectful King" for displaying a small polite gesture when he poses with female fans - he never touches them.

Reeves has mastered the art of posing with women without being grabby.

"I can't do all of the things that the commercial says, so he's disappointed".

Keanu has a voice role in Toy Story 4, which bows June 20 and is among a glut of new releases bringing delight to his fans.
