Vodafone UK Users Get Hands Free Mobile Calls via Amazon Echo

The 2019 Echo Dot Kids Edition isn't too different from its predecessor, as it has the same basic form factor.

Set to retail at $69.99 when it releases on June 26, you can save $20 and pre-order the new Echo Dot Kids Edition for $49.99.

For those who have multiple Alexa speakers around the home, you can set a specific one to act as hub for inbound calls - so they don't all ring - and you can easily enable and disable inbound calls. This All-New release is based on the latest Echo Dot hardware iteration (third-generation), but is 70 percent louder than the old kids model.

The included 1 year of FreeTime Unlimited gives your kids access to hundreds of hours of fun and educational content, including ad-free radio stations and playlists, Audible books, and a growing list of premium kids skills.

Examples of Alexa skills only available via FreeTime Unlimited include Disney Dance Floor by Disney Publishing, Baby Shark Adventures by Pinkfong and Ghostbusters by Sony.

Like all the other Kids Edition devices, Amazon is also offering a 2-year worry-free guarantee on this, which means if your kid is able to break it, Amazon will replace it for free. This time around, Amazon is offering a kid-friendly Flash Briefing, which offers news from sources like National Geographic and News-o-Matic, along with the ability to add things like a Word of the Day, and a new interesting fact. It allows kids to create their own interactive adventures using the smart speaker and ten templates.

If you don't have a Vodafone plan, you can still use Alexa Outbound Calling to make phone calls to most mobile and landline numbers in the UK, US, Canada and Mexico through Echo devices or the Alexa app.
