Ola Aina is to leave Chelsea for Torino on a permanent deal after impressing during a season-long loan at the Serie A club last term, the Blues have confirmed.

Beale, who is on Gerrard's staff at Ibrox, worked with Aina in the youth set-up at Chelsea and is delighted to see the wing-back making his way in the game.

Aina had a fairly good 2018-19 campaign with Torino as they finished seventh in the table - just short of Europa League qualification.

Aina represented England at various youth levels, but has chosen to play his senior worldwide football for Nigeria.

An FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League victor during his time at the Chelsea academy, Aina made just three Premier League appearances for the London side, all of which came in his second season as a senior professional as Antonio Conte guided them to the Premier League title.

The Nigeria global is among a group of players on loan that the Blues have been keeping tabs on.

Chelsea full-back Ola Aina has joined Torino on a permanent basis after the Serie A side took up the option to secure his signature in a £8.7million deal.

Cairo announced that his club chose to activate the clause of purchasing the 22-year-old, despite Chelsea's apparent counter-option. Now Torino own all their players.

According to the report by UK Sun, Torino initially wanted to sign Ola Aina permanently before the end of the January 2019 transfer window, but they changed their decision to wait till summer.
