Romelu Lukaku casts doubt over Manchester United future

Lukaku - contracted to the Red Devils until 2022 with the option of a further year - scored 12 Premier League goals as United finish sixth in 2018-19, missing out on Champions League qualification.

"Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in Italy last season, Sarri will go to Juve, Ancelotti is at Naples, the Serie A will be thrilling next season".

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the United manager, has made it clear that Rashford is his first choice centre-forward and Lukaku, now 26, is wary of reduced playing time as he enters what he believes will be the peak years of his career.

- When does the new Premier League season start?

He told Sportmediaset: "It's good to see Conte joined Inter, for me he is the best manager in the world".

"He [Conte] knows what I think about him", Lukaku said.

"The club need to decide but my agent wants the best for me, I am sure it'll be an agitated summer".

"And if something happens, the teams and my agent have to do the talking". I've already taken my decision.

"I know what I'll do, but won't say it". 'I lost my place and haven't played much.

'I have a contract with Man United. "I'm not somebody who likes to talk about my personal relationships with managers, but you know, I'm a player of Manchester United and I have to respect my club".

'I am going to enjoy my holidays with my family now.

Robertson will likely get a slightly extended break, so perhaps we won't see him in action in the pre-season friendlies before the Reds head over to the U.S., but to suggest he will miss the start of the new season is massively overstating this injury.
