"Hard Knocks: Training camp with the Oakland Raiders" will debut on August 6.

On the heels of a 4-12 season, Gruden and Raiders GM Mike Mayock made some puzzling selections among their three first-round picks at the 2019 National Football League draft - after sending all of the team's scouts home - and then added mercurial receiver Antonio Brown after his unceremonious exit from Pittsburgh.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden lobbied for the show to chronicle his older brother's team.

On Monday, the Oakland Raiders made it official, announcing coach Jon Gruden's misfit crew will star in the all-access HBO show.

The other candidates were the 49ers, the Giants, the Lions and the Redskins.

"Everybody wants to be a Raider. Now they'll find out what it takes to become one", Raiders owner Mark Davis said.

Maybe Brown can impress the production crew by showing up for training camp in a helicopter, which he did a year ago when he reported to Saint Vincent College with the Steelers.

Gruden hinted earlier in the week that the television cameras could be coming to California, and now the attention will be on Antonio Brown, Richie Incognito and cast of characters Mike Mayock has assembled in the bay. "We are so grateful to this storied franchise for opening up its doors and allowing HBO and NFL Films to spend the summer with the Raiders in what promises to be a compelling and engaging training camp".
