Florida State Seminoles are headed back to Omaha for the College World Series after they swept the LSU Tigers at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge over the weekend.

"I think that's been our mentality the whole way, we've been doubted for most of the season and it's really fired us up and I think that mentality isn't gonna change no matter what the media says no matter what the people in Omaha would say, we're gonna keep the underdog mentality and keep it loose the whole way", said Seminoles' third baseman Drew Mendoza.

For the FSU baseball team, 62 games turned out to not be the end of the line for head coach Mike Martin in his final season leading the Seminoles - and the wild ride that has been this season for the garnet and gold will continue next week in the location every team dreams about going at the start of the season. Salvatore produced three hits and drove in a run before scoring the game-winner.

Florida State (40-21) didn't have a hit until Robby Martin's single to right with one out in the sixth against LSU reliever Todd Peterson. Home plate umpire Tony Norris initially called Martin out, but the call was reversed after he consulted the rest of the umpiring crew and looked at the play on video replay.

The SEC and LSU's all-time hits leader Antoine Duplantis added four more onto his career tally, including a solo home run in the fourth inning to cut FSU's lead.

LSU took a 4-0 lead with single runs in the second through fifth innings.
