It's due out in the spring of 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, PC and Mac and looks to be loads of fun.

Shown off on Nintendo Direct this morning, Romero Games is making a new "character-driven strategy game set in 1920s Chicago". Just last month, he released Sigil, a massive mod for the iconic first-person shooter, so it'll be interesting to see what he can achieve in a very different genre. Empire of Sin is a lot different than numerous games John Romero is known for, as it is a strategy game set in Chicago during the prohibition era.

The official site notes you'll have to build up a criminal empire as one of 14 crime bosses vying for control of the city.

You'll need to "outsmart, out-gun and outlast" your rivals on your rise to the top, hustling, charming and intimidating on your journey to become Chicago's kingpin. Your enterprises will include speakeasies, union skimming, casinos and more, as you assemble a gang of loyal mobsters to help you fight for territory and expand your operation.

Empire of Sin is a title that was thrown around ahead of E3 2019, and now we finally have a game to match the name.
