Terraria Journey's End expansion revealed at E3 2019

The little indie adventure game first launched way back in 2011 and nearly immediately, comparisons were drawn between it and Minecraft. The update will be the fourth major update to Terraria, which will release at some point by the end of the year.

Journey's End will also revamp world generation to produce a number of new mini-biomes when worlds are first created.

The trailer, which you can check out below, also reveals the introduction of a Bestiary, which should help you keep track of all the monsters you've slain.

As exciting as all of this is, there's one new feature aimed squarely at Terraria veterans: Master Mode. On that front, if you fancy an even trickier experience, you can try out the new "Master Mode" difficulty, which is a step up from Expert. The update will be completely free to players who already own Terraria, and it will include over 800 new items. Sadly it doesn't have a release date other than "2019" yet, but it's not like there isn't enough in that game to be getting on with anyway. Detailed in a very brief video teaser featured in the E3 2019 PC Gaming Showcase, we now know that the upcoming Terraria expansion is called Journey's End.
