South Florida opens a day earlier against Wisconsin at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Head coach Nick Saban of the Alabama Crimson Tide walks on the field during warm ups prior to the game against the Georgia Bulldogs in the CFP National Championship presented by AT&T at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on January 8, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia. "It's going to be a lot of fun to be a USF fan".

Alabama opens next season against Duke on August 31 in Atlanta. In return, the Bulls will travel to Tuscaloosa for a pair of games on September 7, 2024, and September 12, 2026.

The move comes just after USF scheduled games with University of Miami.

The Crimson Tide won the only other game played against South Florida, taking a 40-17 victory on August 30, 2003, in Birmingham. The program recently announced a three-game series against Miami starting in 2025.

But it's not always easy to draw teams like the Crimson Tide out of Tuscaloosa.

Thursday's announcement completes USF's 2024 schedule.

It's the fifth series Alabama has set up during the previous year. Both 2023 and 2026 still have one nonconference date open, even with the addition of the Crimson Tide.

South Florida is the fifth FBS opponent that Alabama has scheduled to future home-and-home series in the past year, joining Texas in 2022-23, West Virginia in 2026-27, Notre Dame in 2028-29 and Oklahoma in 2032-33.
