Among several notable showbiz personalities, Sonam Kapoor also had lashed out at Oberoi for his controversial tweet that's meeting widespread condemnation. The tweet related to exit polls. "To take it so seriously and give such a big reaction; those people in the meme have no issue with it, no one wrote about it". After the backlash, he deleted the tweet on Tuesday and apologised for the same.

On Tuesday, Vivek tweeted that something that may appear to be amusing at first glance to one may not be so to others. He reminded that he has been involved with empowerment of over 2,000 girls since the last ten years and that he can never think of treating any woman with disrespect. In fact, the National Commission for Women and Maharashtra State Women's Commission (MSWC) also found his tweet "disrespectful" to the dignity of women.

(Web Desk) - Vivek Oberoi who dated Aishwarya Rai after her break-up with Salman Khan has taken a low blow at the actress by posting a meme on her past and present life. The captions for each of the three images read, "opinion poll", "exit poll" and "result", respectively. His post was captioned, "Haha!" He said, "Someone forwarded a creative meme to me and I just laughed over it".

Initially when criticisms came in, Vivek on Monday evening had stressed that there is nothing to apologise for. When I don't tweet like before, how will I see all these memes?

"Those in the meme don't have a problem, but everyone else has", he claimed, linking the controversy to his yet-to-be released biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There is a "Didi" in West Bengal who puts people behind jail for a meme.

"I just want to say Sonam that, 'you're a very nice person, I have huge respect for your father (Anil Kapoor) and I love him very much". If I have done something wrong, I will apologise. "Now they are trying this", the actor added.
