The trailer basically belongs to a documentary called "God of War: Raising Kratos" which would document the behemoth effort it took to develop God of War 2018 over a period of 5 years.

Sony says the documentary was made with 400 hours of behind-the-scenes footage, from the development floor at Santa Monica Studio, to the performance capture stage, to the game's public debut at E3 2016, and even further.

"After nearly three years of production and 400 hours of filming, we invite you to follow this cinematic journey", wrote Scott Rohde, Game Development Head of Sony Worldwide Studios America, through the pages of PlayStation Blog.

The God of War Raising Kratos documentary will be streamed on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, which means it will be free for everyone to enjoy.

"Announcing Raising Kratos", Tweeted the studio, earlier today; "our full-length feature documentary, coming very soon to PlayStation YouTube - an exploration into the massive undertaking it took to change the course of God of War".

We are extremely proud to share this window into a very long journey with those who celebrate God of War as much as we do, as well as those who will discover us soon. The above video is the trailer for the documentary and is commentated by God of War's Director Cory Barlog. "So that we could chop it up and then carry it around and then burn it". Santa Monica Studio and Barlog pivoted the God of War game in ways unimaginable and now the documentary will show us how it all happened. "But we ran out of time to get it on the disc so it ended up getting put on the shelf until now".
