After more than 15 years with the company, longtime Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime is officially stepping down from the role as of today, April 15.

As Reggie Fils-Aime says goodbye to Nintendo of America on Monday, he's offered up a new way for fans to keep in touch: via his new personal Twitter account.

Regardless, Reggie now has an online presence outside of Nintendo.

The first tweet from Reggie is of an action-figure of him holding a sign with his Twitter handle.

Reggie starts by showing us his E3 2004 pass where he announced to the world his "name was Reggie." and then goes on to show a picture of himself trying on his old Mii head one last time before it's thrown into the archives.

"Hi Twitter community", reads the tweet, which had almost 100,000 likes in the first five hours. Reggie made his first Twitter post just two hours ago, but yet he already has 98.1 thousand followers and counting. "And personally, for giving me a Mushroom Kingdom full of incredible memories that I will never forget, ever", Fils-Aime said. Doug Bowser, formerly Nintendo of America's senior vice president of sales and marketing, will become the company's new president.
