RJ Barrett named NCAA's top guard at College Basketball Awards

Williamson added the Wooden Award to his collection on Friday, joining Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis as the only freshmen to take home the accolade.

Williamson capped off his historic season with the John R. Wooden award, which is named after the legendary former UCLA coach and given to the sports' best male and female players every year.

An electric freshman season of highlight after highlight has earned Zion Williamson one of college basketball's top honors.

Barrett beat out Justin Wright-Foreman of Hofstra, Carsen Edwards of Purdue, Jarrett Culver of Texas Tech and Kyle Guy of national champion Virginia.

The Blue Devils are still awaiting Williamson's decision on whether or not he will enter the NBA Draft, although the overwhelming assumption is that he will enter his name into the 2019 NBA Draft as he is the consensus No. 1 pick this summer.

Asked for the second time on the show if he was leaving early, he replied, "Like I said before, I don't know". "The brotherhood is something real".

The Duke University basketball star won the Jerry West Award, given each year to the top shooting guard in NCAA Division I men's basketball.

"I think most of the country would say you graduated the oldest team in the country - there's no other team that had more experience in age than what Nevada had a year ago and now that's gone so the perception would be a dip", Alford said.

Ionescu previously repeated as the victor of the Nancy Lieberman award as point guard of the year, won the WBCA's Wade Trophy as the nation's most outstanding player and was named an All-American by the AP, USBWA and WBCA.
