Although Netherrealm Studios have been mostly quiet about the characters, a recent vague Twitter comment made by Daanish Syed, the Senior UI Artist at Netherrealm Studios, neither confirms nor denies secret characters in Mortal Kombat 11.

Featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat's best in class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making. She can destroy her enemy by her giant insects and has a special ability to fight with her enemies even after she dies. Looking at what we know, these items could be six fighters, plus six costumes, plus Shao Khan. If Kitana's going to enter a fight, she's going to do it in style.

Since the weapons themselves are a featured more prominently in Mortal Kombat 11, Kitana holds the Steel Fans while fighting rather than having them sit on her side. Don't worry, she will be the one performing the fatality since this is her gameplay trailer. She is an elder god and she is defined as one of the most powerful characters introduced in the game, which is pretty appropriate for an elder goddess. To sub the salt in the wound, Kitana's anti-gravity powers activate within the Fans as they hold the victims head up before she knocks them right into their temple. In addition, Kitana has some new moves too which she can use to defeat her enemies.

Mortal Kombat 11 will have microtransactions for cosmetic items such as skins, gear, intro animations and victory animations, developer NetherRealm Studios has confirmed.
