Epic Games has been flexing its financial muscle fueled by the wildly successful Fortnite battle royale game. According to a recent Tweet from Geoff Keighley, Jason West (co-founder of both Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment) has been working for Epic for roughly a month now.

This is according to a tweet from Geoff Keighley.

After a falling out with Activision, West and Zampella founded Respawn Entertainment.

This will be the first gaming project that Jason West will be a part of since his departure from Respawn Entertainment. An official company statement confirmed that West had left the company to "take care of some family issues".

It's also being seen as a big deal because many consider West to be an incredibly talented developer.

At Infinity Ward, West had a hands-on role through most of the Call of Duty series, including the WWII-themed originals and the first two Modern Warfare games, which helped to redefine modern shooters. It was not clear whaat Jason West was set to do after leaving Respawn.

While we haven't heard directly from Epic Games about this matter (and we might not for some time) the thought of West now working with the company is an interesting one. However, with him co-founding the studio that created the multi-million dollar Call of Duty franchise and repeating that success with Titanfall, it is possible that Epic is using him as the development figurehead for a brand new blockbuster franchise.
