Raiders Cut A.J. McCarron, Jordy Nelson

The NFL's social media team was very excited, too, as they photoshopped an image of Brown standing with Raiders QB Derek Carr and fellow Raiders WR Jordy Nelson with the caption "Welcome to #RaiderNation".

Jordy Nelson's time in Oakland has come to an end.

Nelson, who turns 34 on May 31, caught 63 passes for 739 yards and three touchdowns over 15 games in a disjointed, injury-plagued lone season for Oakland. In fact, there's probably a better chance of Nelson retiring from the National Football League than returning to the Packers next season.

"So yeah, he'll be back".

The additions of receiver Antonio Brown in a trade and Tyrell Williams in free agency seemingly made Nelson expendable.

Nelson's $3 million salary would've become guaranteed on Friday, and there was a $500,000 roster bonus, so they saved some cash and $3.5 million in salary-cap space.

McCarron is in the second year of a two-year, $10 million deal he signed with the Bills during the 2018 offseason.
