The Gunners inflicted a first Premier League defeat on Solskjaer since he took over from Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford as they ran out 2-0 winners at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær has offered Paul Scholes an invitation to Manchester United after his former teammate resigned as Oldham Athletic manager after only 31 days.

Romelu Lukaku has been ruled out of Manchester United's squad that will battle Wolves in their FA Cup quarter-final clash with a foot injury.

"We weren't s--!" he said. But it's not like we can't look at the performance and say we were shit because we weren't.

He said: "It's so odd, the Arsenal one - I'm very disappointed in the result, it hurts more than anything". "You're always measured on results but we played a good game against Arsenal". We weren't, we played well.

Their comeback win booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2014.

"Were you (surprised)?" caretaker United boss Solskjaer said with a smile.

'I didn't have a schedule, I had until May to do whatever I could with the team and playing style and mood. They've been training better this week so Jesse [Lingard] and Ander [Herrera] have been training.

There was speculation suggesting Sanchez may return after the worldwide break, however, Solskjaer says he's still a few weeks away from being ready so the United boss doesn't feel the attacker will be available until towards the end of April when they face Everton, Man City and Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku, with six goals in his last four games, has a foot problem and will be assessed today before United's trip to Wolves, to see if he is fit to travel. You can never be 100 per cent sure but Alexis is such a determined lad, he loves football and is doing everything he can to get back and show his best side'.

Phil Jones is available again for Solskjaer after missing four matches through illness, and Anthony Martial, Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard are all training again.
