Mike Iupati to sign with the Seattle Seahawks

Arizona Cardinals free agent guard Mike Iupati will sign a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, according to multiple reports. The news comes just hours after the team agreed to terms with veteran guard Mike Iupati, who is expected to take over J.R. Sweezy's spot at left guard.

Wright and All-Pro Bobby Wagner formed one of the NFL's best linebacker tandems during their seven seasons together.

A first-round pick out of Idaho in 2010, Iupati has started 114 games in his career, spending five seasons in San Francisco and the past four years in Arizona. Plus, Iupati is a large man standing six-foot-five-inches and weighing 330 pounds. Unfortunately for Seattle's first-year offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, the Seahawks' offensive line regressed in pass protection last season, as quarterback Russell Wilson was sacked on over 10 percent of his dropbacks. While that isn't old in human years, for an offensive lineman with a lot of recent injuries that 32 years of age might be more like 78 in football years.
