Dr. Jim Raman Dies: ‘Amazing Race’ Contestant Was 42 Years Old

So heartbreaking. Former "Amazing Race" runner-up Jim Raman died unexpectedly on March 12, and his loved ones are describing his death as a "tragic loss".

Jim Raman, an orthodontist who competed on the 25th season of "The Amazing Race", died on Tuesday morning in SC, according to the TV station WIS TV.

Lexington County Sheriff's Department Capt. Adam Myrick gave TheWrap this statement Tuesday, regarding Raman's death: "Deputies started a death investigation after responding to a Lakefront Court home about 4:30 Tuesday morning".

It was not immediately clear how Raman died but Myrick told USA Today that police were not "seeking any suspects or persons of interest as our work on this case continues".

The orthodontist and his wife, Misti Raman, appeared on the reality show's 25th season together.

No cause of death is available at this time.

Raman, and his wife Misti Raman, are dentists at Irmo Smiles, according to their practice's website.

At the time of this writing, no one has been arrested, charged or taken in for questioning in relation to Dr. Jim Raman's death. The statement tells patients that their appointments will be rescheduled for a later date. Raman's funeral service will be on Saturday, at noon, at Riverland Hills Baptist Church.
